Sapphire Mountain Golf Club is an eighteen hole resort golf course designed by Ron Garl and built in 1982. The greens are bent grass and the fairways are bent grass. There are approximately 36 bunkers strategically placed around the course and water hazards are in play.
Each of the 18 holes on this NC mountain golf course is a new scenic experience. Lined by towering pines, hemlocks and mountain laurel and surrounded by mountain peaks, all tees, fairways and greens are as beautiful as they are challenging.
Created under a traditional concept with 18 distinctive golf holes, Bayonet is a golf course that the golfer will never tire of playing. Complementing Byrd's design is 40 years of turfgrass experience by Bayonet Golf Club at Puppy Creek owner and operator Carolina Turf Farms, Inc. Carolina Turf and Bayonet have combined resources to produce one of North Carolina's premier public golf facilities.
